Your books are largely aimed at seven to ten year olds, what attracts you to this particular audience? What are the pros and cons of writing for this age range?

It was a happy accident to be honest. I used to write dark plays for adults, and also plays for to perform and for them to watch. But I was looking to make the move into writing full time, I had a manuscript for a children's book and I thought that was going to be my best shot.  This became 'Gormy Ruckles' - a series about a boy monster. It was aimed at a younger audience than the one I write for now - I slowly edged up to a point where I feel most comfortable, at my arrested mental age of nine or ten...
